Terra & Tide
adventures worth remembering

Some trips fade fast. Others stay with you for years — this is one of those stories, from a three-day crossing that started as a shortcut and ended as the best part of the trip.
The original plan was to hike the W trek in Torres del Paine over four days. A closed pass on day two forced a reroute through a valley that wasn't on the map.
By the time the granite towers came into view at the end of the third day, lit up gold in the last light, it was clear the detour hadn't cost us anything.
